Corpus Linguistics and English Vocabulary Learning

人们曾把语言学习过程中的语法比喻为建筑物的框架,而把语言词汇比喻为该建筑物的砖。由此可见词汇是学习一门语言所必备的。学习词汇包括了和某一词汇相关的好些方面,如搭配、词义和句法等,这些都会影响到学习者正确使用词汇——“像本族语者那样的使用”。而现实中一般的学习者大多将学习精力集中在词汇的数量上。本文借助语料库的数据,从词义、搭配和句法三个方面来研究词汇的教学。

Vocabulary is the essential starting point of learning a language. Without grammar, it will be difficult to understand a sentence, but without vocabulary, it is even impossible to generate a sentence. Learning the vocabulary includes many aspects about the words： its collocation, meaning and syntactic restrictions, all contributing to affect the correct use of words native - like use. However, many language learners just pay most attention to the number of the words they can master. This paper will study the learning of vocabulary from another perspective corpus linguistics.
