A Pragmatic View on Euphemism

委婉语这个词来自于希腊语,其意思就是讲适当的话。许多委婉语有幽默的意味,并采用可接受的表达方式。通过对委婉语的语言构成、发展及其作为语言行为之基础的研究,可以探究其使用的原因。虽然委婉语的研究已经有了些成果,但大部分文章仅局限于列举这种语言现象,在委婉语语用方面的研究还极少。本文将对实际场景中的委婉语进行探讨,并使用会话理论和其它语用理论来分析委婉语的表达方法。

The word euphemism comes from Greek and of humor and make the expression acceptable, but the usage means to say proper words. Many euphemisms have a sense has other reasons which can be well studied through the research of its formation, development and linguistic behavior foundation. Although considerable achievements in the study of euphemisms have been made, most articles are limited to enumerating the language phenomena. There are very few studies on euphemisms employing. This paper attempts to investigate euphemisms from the pragmatic prospective. Conversational principles and other pragmatic aspectives are exploited to explore the expression methods of euphemisms
