O ! Pioneers is one of Willa Cather＇ s most characteristic works, from which we can see how Cather＇ s own religious belief influences her view on her heroes and their fate as well. Cather also applies some commandments and allusions in Bible to the novel, which enriches the content of the novel. Comparing two different types of love one is between Alexandra and Carl; and the other, Marie and Emil the author of this dissertation believes that Cather has not only doubted some religious doctrine but expected to reform them as well.
