摘要
文章认为苏曼殊的《哀希腊》译本是其在特殊的历史时期把异国文化内涵经过本国文化传统因素过滤所得的呕心沥血之作,译本在形式、内容、意象方面都受到了本国民族传统文化精心的过滤,这也是近代翻译家们处理外国作品的一种手段,目的是使自己的译作更符合自己时代和民族的口味,译作的思想内容更易为国人所接受。这为人们重新审视晚清和近代翻译家们翻译的外国作品提供了借鉴。
This paper holds that Su's version of The Isles of Greece is a work embodying his utmost painstaking efforts in special historical period to delicately filter foreign cultural connotations through Chinese traditional elements in the form, content and image, which is also a means taken by modern translators to handle foreign works to cater for the taste of their age and Chinese readers. Such an analysis of Su's painstaking efforts can provide a reference for us to re-evaluate the versions of the translators in late Qing Dynasty and modern China.
