Langrunyuan, located within the Peking University campus in the Haidian District of Beiiing, used to be the garden of a prince In the Qing Dynasty. The main layout of the garden survives to this day, with some documents and drawings handed down. The garden covers a large area neighboring the Wanquan River in the north and is surrounded with a stream inside and hills outside. The main buildings are on the island in the center and stand as three yards with the horizontal inscribed boards from the emperors, empress dowagers and princes. Many plants and flowers, such as the lotus flowers, willows, pines and bamboos, make it a scenic place. Based on the materials and survey, the history, layout and design skill of the garden are explored.
