晚清翻译与“翻译的政治”

Translation of the Late Qing Dynasty and the politics of translation

所谓“翻译的政治”,是指翻译过程中的各种权力关系以及相关的操纵策略。文章选取对晚清社会产生重大影响的严复、梁启超、林纾等三人的翻译,探讨在其翻译活动中体现出的各种权力关系和操纵策略,希望在一定程度上深化对晚清翻译思想和实践的理解与阐释,同时也为“翻译的政治”理论提供近代中国语境下的例证。

The politics of translation means the power relationship and control strategies embodied in the translation process. Taking the translations of YAN Fu, LIANG Qi-chao and LIN Shu as examples, whose thoughts had great influences on the society of the Late Qing Dynasty, the paper investigates the power relationship and control strategies reflected in their translation activities. It is hoped that the paper can deepen the understanding of the translation thoughts and practice in the Late Qing Dynasty and provide a sound envidence for the politics of translation in the context of modem China.
