民国梳妆台作为民国家具的典型代表。受西方文化影响,它随着当时城市居民生活方式的改变而引进和发展,主要有中式、西式和日式三种风格,但以西式造型为主,在用材、装饰等方面继续沿用了中国传统家具的做法,装饰上也采用中西结合形式,有些部件已开始运用机械加工制作,主要由红木和柚木、榉木、橡木、榆木等制作而成。

Dresser is a kind of typical furniture during the period of China Republic（1911-1949）.Influenced by western culture,it was introduced and developed with the changing of lifestyle of city residents.It can be classified as three styles;Chinese,Western and Japanese.The most is western style,but it followed the method of Chinese traditional furniture making in the way of materials or decoration.A few parts were made in machine.Most of dressers were made of roscwood,teak,becch,oak ,elm.etc.
