The United States and Modern Sino-Latin America Relations

本文论述近年来中国与拉丁美洲国家关系的发展状况,指出:中国发展与拉美的关系坚持“三互”——政治上互信、经济上互利、文化上互动,以推动“三多”——政治多极化、市场多元化、文化多样化。主观上,中国不想和美国对抗,中国加强与拉美互动并非针对美国;客观上,中国在拉美地区的影响力远小于美国,对美国在拉美的主导权不构成威胁。所以,美国国内有些人对中拉关系的发展作出过度反应,客观上不利于中拉、中美关系的健康发展。

This article gives a simple introduction to the development situations of the relations between China and Latin America, and then points out that China＇s development of the relations with Latin America is based on three mutuality-mutual trust in politics, mutual benefits in economy, mutual interaction in culture to promote three multiples multi-polarity in politics, diversification in market as well as in culture. Subjectively speaking, China tries not to confront with the US side, so it is difficult to say that the interaction between China and Latin America is to counter US; objectively speaking, China＇s influence on Latin America is much smaller than that of US and has no threat on US＇s dominance status on Latin America. So the exaggerated reaction by some Americans to the development of Sino-Latin America relations is unreasonable.
