This paper briefly presents the applications and preparation methods of ul- tralow density foam materials. The preparation technique of nltralow density poly (4-methyl-1-pentene)foam material is introduced in detail,and the characterization of the material and its ap-plication in inertial confinement fusion(ICF) are described.
