Avigdor Arikha, an Israeli painter, became renowned in the history of contemporary art for his inimitable painting concept and representation technique. In this paper, the formation of his view in art and creation techniques are analyzed in detail from three Avigdor Arikha＇s painting periods （abstraction period, turnaround period, and representation period） to understand the development of occidental representationalism.
