Japan＇s Soul in the Heart of Florida --The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

For a Japanese garden ranking among the top eight in the world outside Japan （accord- ing to Roth Journal, in 2005）, the Morikami Gardens in Palm Beach County, Florida, could certainly not have gone with anyone less than Hoichi Kurisu, recognized as one of the ten most influential living Japanese garden designers. Instructed with master gar- dener Kenzo Ogata in Tokyo, back in 1964-1968, Mr. Kurisu went on to open his own very respected landscape design company, one that is today on the forefront of healing gardens and Japanese gardens design worldwide. The company has secured a number of awards over the years, including several ALCA Awards and the National Landscape Award in 1992 and 1998, both handed in at the White House.
