The concept and key technology of knowledge-based engineering （KBE） are proposed. The development tools and the framework plan of KBE system are introduced. Then taking comprehensive application of Clips and UG/Open API to develop the design system of the aeroengine blade as an example, the implementation method and process are discussed in detail.
