The new satellites and advanced air- and ground-based automation equipment, along with worldwide adoption of common ATC procedures, could enable a truly global air traffic control system with 'seamless' boundaries to be created in the early decades of the next century. The aircraft avionics will include a graphical display in the cockpit to imform the crew of nearby air traffic activity and weather.
