The deity worship is the core of ancient Chinese religious rituals, including witch rites and sacrificial rites held in the outskirts and temple rituals. Songs with musical performances were the most exciting and artistic part of those religious rituals. For instance, "Cutting off the Transport between the Heaven and the Earth" was an important religious event in ancient China. The ability of the Witches linking up deity and human beings began to be possessed exclusively by emperors. The Western Zhou Dynasty inherited the worship rituals from the Shang Dynasty, and most of the temple odes of the Western Zhou were songs in religious rituals come from the Shijing , and were created by the sacrificial rite performers and historian and witches and invocators. They were intended to invite the e deity from the heaven and to entertain them.
