从翻译文本看林语堂的文化身份与文化选择

On Lin Yutang's Cultural Identity and Choice from the Translation Text

林语堂是中国现代文学史上一位具有多重身份的知识分子。他不仅是文学家、编辑家,而且还是著名的翻译家。林语堂在他的翻译文本中建构着自己作为族裔散居者的跨文化身份。无论是翻译的动机还是翻译的文本抑或翻译的过程,都彰显着林语堂与其他知识分子不同的文化身份,正是这一跨文化身份的建构,促成林语堂做出了与其他知识分子不同的文化选择。

Lin Yutang is an intellectual with multiple identities in modern Chinese history of literature in that he is a writer, editor and also translator. Lin forms his cross-cultural identity as a diaspora in his translation text. A close examination from the motivation of translation and the translation text or the process of translating reveals Lin＇s different cultural identity from that of other intellectuals and it is the formation of cross-cultural identity that causes Lin to make his distinctive cultural alternative.
