The History of Culture on the Changes of the "Signified"——An Approach to the "Keywords" Study of Raymond Williams

崇尚经典文学的英国精英文化传统的土壤却培养了雷蒙.威廉姆斯从大众日常生活出发的平民学术气质。与学院制理论体系的构建不同,威廉姆斯对社会经验极为重视,他在对以“文化”为主的一系列社会语言中的关键词含义变迁的考察中,描绘出了一幅社会文明发展变化的风景图,为人类社会走向完美和谐提供了新的思考方式和研究视野。

Raymond Williams was grown up in the traditional soil of the British elite culture that advocated classic literature but had the academic qualities of ordinary peoples that made his research from the start of the everyday life of the broad mass. Different from those who constructed the scholastic system of theories, he attached a great importance to the social experiences, and, in the conceptual investigation of the keywords that appeared in a series of the social speeches chiefly consisting of the ＂culture＂, depicted a landscape painting of the developing changes in social civilization, providing the new thinking mode and research vista for the happiness and harmony of the human society.
