广东工业化进程究竟处于哪个阶段目前尚无定论。将改革开放后的广东工业化进程与发达国家和新兴工业化国家的中后期工业化发展的对比研究表明:世界之交的广东工业化进程正向后期阶段迈进。

The existing literature has not arrived at a consensus on the stage of industrialization in Guangdong province. After a discussion of the characteristics of Guangdong industrialization since the Reform and Openingup in reference to the middle and late stage of industrialization in developed countries and emerging nations, this article concludes that at the turn of the 21st century Guangdong province is advancing towards the late stage of industrialization.
