中国外运集团于1996年5月22日在北京新建立的一家合资航空快递公司——中外运北空-联合包裹国际快递有限公司正式开业,合资的另一方,就是国际上赫赫有名的快运业巨子——美国联合包裹运送服务公司(UPS).众所周知.近年来国内航空业随着中国经济的持续高速发展而欣欣向荣.继飞机制造业内波音、空中客车、麦道等竞相向中国销售飞机、建立合资企业后。

United Parcel Service ( UPS) has been a familiar name in the freight business for almost the whole of this century. Now it is becoming more and more familiar by Chinese along with it first run into China market in 1988. In May 1996, UPS set up its first JV with SinoTrans in Beijing. Mr. Richard Loi, Managing Director of UPS Beijing Office, told the author that UPS willexpand its business to 118 cities in China by the end of year 2000.
