Applying anchored instruction based on the theory of constructionism to English classroom instruction helps the students establish the concept of ownership in English study, fully arouses the students＇ initiative and enthusiasm to study the language,develops the ability that the students study independently, and makes the students know that they should appear as active participators in entire teaching activity. The learning process should be a process of understanding information,but not the process of gaining information machinizedly.
