On the Cultural Value of Mathematics——My opinion on having some lectures on the History of Mathematics

新课程标准中的课程十大理念之一强调要体现数学的文化价值,在适当的内容中提出对"数学文化"的学习要求,设立"数学史选讲"专题。为了更好地贯彻执行新课程标准的这一理念:1.数学教师要先充实自己的数学史知识;2.作为数学教师还应该清楚数学史对数学教育的作用。

One of the ten concepts in the New Curriculum emphasizes the embodiment of the cultural value of mathematics in teaching, and it reconfirms that there must be some contents about Maths culture in teaching, giving lectures on the history of maths. In order to implement this concept in our teaching, teachers should： 1. Enrich themselves with the history of maths; 2. Realize the importance of teaching history of maths.
