Address forms are an integral part in all languages, and they can reflect particular social and cultural characteristics. Through an analysis of address forms from the socio - linguistic perspective and based on the iconicity study of linguistic signs, this article explores the similar or motivated relationship between address forms and certain societies or cultures to prove that there does exist iconicity between language and society or culture.
