Huang Ti′s Mythical Legend and the East Yi Clan Culture

黄蚩大战,并非仅是黄帝族与蚩尤族之战,乃是炎黄联盟与整个东夷族之间的大战,即华夏文化与东夷文化的大碰撞大冲突。东夷族虽以兵败告终,但东夷族中有相当多的氏族后来归附、混同、融合于黄帝族中,两种风格殊异的文化亦随之大交流大融合,故而黄帝神话传说中便呈现出诸多东夷文化色彩。

The fight between Huang Ti and Chi You does not only mean the one between the Huang Ti clan and the Chi You clan, but also the fight between the Yan- Huang alliance and the whole East Yi nationality, namely, the great conflicts and great collision of Chinese culture and the East Yi culture. Although the East Yi clan ended in failure, quite a lot of clans submitted themselves to, confused, merged into the Huang Ti clan. Gradually the two different cultures of Huang Ti clan and the East Yi clan merged, melted and exchanged with each other greatly. So Huang Ti＇s mythical legend carries a great deal of the East Yi cultural color.
