苏州大学理工实验大楼,既坐落在高等学府校园内又和繁忙的市区主干道相邻,特殊的地理位置要求在其外墙照明设计中,通过光的应力使其能散发出古老“东吴”文化的书香气,又充满现代气息。根据其特殊要求进行设计,制定出原则,提出多种方案,细化确认方案,计算修正数据,并把设计值与实验值进行比较,在此基础上把方案付诸实施,取得了较满意的结果。

Old but energetic, young but elegant, Soochow University has witnessed the uprising of the new symbol, the Science Lab Building. She is so unique for her location within the famous advanced university and nearby a traffic-jamming urban main highway. This special geographical location and environment does require special lighting design of her otter wall. How to make people feel and get influenced by both her out-coming sense of tra- ditional ancient Soochow＇ s study-first virtue and modern style with help of the lighting effect？ The writer started from this point to conceive, design the subject and came out with several proposals. Moreover, they tried to work out the best proposal by calculating and amending data and comparing the designed values with the experimental ones. On the basis of their efforts, the proposal proved to be qualified and satisfying. No wonder 2 years after her completion, the whole construction got awarded with the national best price in construction industry, the Lu Ban Prize.
