摘要
释义教学是训练和培养学生的理解能力和表达能力的有效手段之一,被广泛地运用在各个层次的英语教学活动中,尤其是专业英语教学.本文尝试运用系统功能语言学的语域理论探析释义与语城之间的相互关系,进而探讨实际释义教学中存在的问题.文章指出教师在释义教学中注重词汇、句法等语言知识的讲解和传授,忽略文化、语域等非语言知识的在释义中的制约作用,从而导致学生语域意识薄弱,语用能力欠缺.
Paraphrase is one of the effective means of cultivating students' comprehension and expression capability in English. Consequently, it is widely used in English teaching at various levels, especially in English teaching for English majors. This paper attempts to explore the mutual relations between paraphrase and register and then on the base of the findings, it discusses the problems in English teaching with paraphrase as an approach. It points out that teachers tend to emphasize the importance of linguistic knowledge, such as vocabulary and grammar, in paraphrasing and to ignore the function of non-linguistic knowledge, such as culture and register. This leads to students' weakness in register awareness and less proficiency in pragmatic competence.
