This paper describes the technological feature of WiMAX and its structure and the feasibility and significance of its application in the marine fishery communication system is discussed. A comparison of the technology of WiMAX and the technology of traditional marine fishery communication is given and a plan to build an integrated marine fishery safe communication system in the future is proposed.
