明亡之际,烈臣义士纷出,叶尚高即其一。其传世作品不多,但篇篇俱是风云激荡时代作者心态的真实记录。通过解读这些作品,我们可以考察下层文人在国破君亡之时的人生价值取向,从而为理解中国士子与社会及时代的关系提供借鉴。

When the Ming dynasty broke up, Ye Shanggao was one of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. All of his numbered works are portraiture of his inner feelings in the turbulent era. By unscrambling these works, we can have a better understanding of life philosophy of the lower-class intellectuals＇ when the nation was in jeopardy, and of the relationship between the Chinese intellectuals and the times in which they were.
