Biblical Cultural Knowledge and English Teaching

《圣经》是西方传统文化的主要组成部分，是西方文化的主要思想基础。在西方社会里，《圣经》的教义渗透社会各阶层，其影响力遍及哲学、政治、经济、文学、艺术乃至日常生活的各个方面，《圣经》就像一把开启西方文明的钥匙。对于英语学习者来说，尤其是作为文化交流使者的英语专业者而言，学习和了解圣经文化知识具有重要的意义。笔者建议把圣经文化知识作为一门教育课程，使其成为英语专业课程的一个组成部分。

The Bible is an essential part of western traditional culture and fundamentally a foundation in many aspects throughout the western world. For English learners, especially the English majors, a decent mastery of biblical cultural knowledge is of fundamental significance. Based on a survey conducted among the English majors in a certain university, three main suggestions on how to impart biblical cultural knowledge are put forward.
