《洛丽塔》中亨伯特的“本我”如此强大以致不能从中摆脱出来。同时,他在尽力维护他的“自我”。他的不可抑制的“本我”导致了他最后致命性的毁灭,他的“超我”也最后崩溃了。只有“本我”、“自我”、“超我”保持平衡,个性才能得到正常发展,人格才能得到升华。
In Lolita, Humbert＇s id is so uncontrollable that he cannot extricate himself from his id. Meanwhile, he tries to protect his ego. His irresistible id leads to fatal destruction and eventually the collapse of his superego. Only when the ＂id＇, ＂ego＂ and ＂superego＂ balances with one another can a person＇s personality be developed well and be sublimated.
