The Functions of Yi nationality's Customary Law in Modern Society

改革开放以来,彝族民间法在中国彝区的乡村则主要表现在彝区村民订立的村规民约。彝区的村规民约直接来源于乡土习惯法,它作为一种法律现象,有自己独特的性质。村规民约是法律的延伸,是民间的法律,它的存在某种程度上对造就彝区地方秩序的稳定和维护彝族民间的公平正义,起到了国家制定法律难以起到的积极作用。

Since reform and opening up, Yi nationality＇ s folk law are mainly contracted by villagers. The regulation of village and nongovernmental agreement make a very important function to the stability and development of the villages. The functions can not replace by state law.
