姚燧是元代前期最重要的古文派作家。他继承唐宋古文运动的余绪,以丰富的社会生活阅历为题材,在写作中渗透着个人刚毅、直言不讳甚至有些强鲠的个性,形成与众不同的风格。他在实用的散文体裁创作领域诸体兼长,为后人留下丰厚的文化遗产。同时,他还训育出张养浩、孛术鲁翀这样优秀的古文家弟子,虽然终未形成大的流派,但毕竟为元代文化增添了亮色,为古文创作的延续和发展做出了贡献。

Yaosui was the most important writer of the Guwen Sect during the early age of Yuan Dynasty. He followed the way of the Guwen Movement in Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty, but he was upright, frank and strong in personality. Finally his unique writing style was formed. Yaosui was good at writing each kind of practical prose. He left very rich cultural heritages for us. Meanwhile, he brought up such students as Zhang Yanghao and Bozhuluchong, etc, who grew to be excellent classical writers later. They didn＇t become a great literary sect, but they made the culture in Yuan Dynasty more colorful, and what＇s more they made contributions to the continuation and the development of Chinese classical prose.
