The author correct the prejudice that the creative keynote of Su Ci was uncontrolled style anciently according to analyzing a plenty of work and related data The text opens up the secret that the great writer made him popular in the literary field, explores the formation and connotation of broad-mined spirit in Su Ci, and establishes the broad - mined style as the basic style of Su Ci.
