Cloze, as an important item type in English testing, aims to test the testee＇s comprehensive abilities of using English, so it has been used in many large-scale tests. This paper systematically states the definition and forms of cloze, discusses several aspects of designing a test on it and then takes the cloze of CET-4 in January 2006 for example to analyze the testing-point validity of this item. It aims to strengthen comprehensionen on cloze of English teachers, then, Validity and reliability of designing a test will be improved.
