VEP has been applied to the project of Datang Yuncheng 2 × 600 MW thermal power generating units. Concerning eight different respects, this paper demonstrates the detailed application of VPE and the problems encountered during its application. And it puts forward the solutions and suggestions. Through the application of this software to electric power system projects design, the working efficiency of design can be promoted and the man-made errors can be reduced.
