Investigation on the Prevention and Control of Endemic Fluorosis in Huantai County

[目的]了解桓台县饮水型地方性氟中毒防治工作现状。[方法]按照《山东省地方性氟中毒防治工作现状调查方案》的要求,对全县所有饮用水井工程按统一表格进行调查登记。[结果]我县1991年以前共建291处降氟改水工程,病区村改水率100%,现已报废停用112处,占38.49%,工程运转基本正常179处,占61.51%,其中水氟含量合格134处,占74.86%,荆家镇和起凤镇水氟含量不合格率最高。从1992年至今新建工程172处,工程运转基本正常146处,占84.88%,采集水样112处,水氟含量合格91处,占81.25%。检测27处非病区工程,水氟含量合格24处,占88.89%。[结论]我县有25万多人又重新喝上了高氟水,地方性氟中毒防治形势仍十分严峻。须进一步加大防治力度,积极探求措施寻找低氟水源。

[Objective]To understand the status in the prevention and control of water related endemic fluorosis in Huantai county. ~Methods]Questionnaire was conducted on the construction of wells in the whole county based on ＂Standard of investigation on the prevention and control of endemic fluorosis in Shandong province＂. [Results]291 water-improving and defluoridation projects were completed in the county in 1991. Water improving project was completed in 100 % of the villages where had endemic fluorosis. 112 water projects were closed, not to be used,accounting for 38.49 %. Of them, 179 were used under normal condition,accounting for 61.51%. The content of fluoride in water in 134 projects was up to the standard,accounting for 74. 86%. The content of fluoride in the water in Jingjia and Qifeng towns was higher and not up to the standard. 172 new projects had been completed since 1992. Of them, 146 projects were used under normal condition,accounting for 84.88%. 112 water samples were collected, the content of fluoride in 91 samples was up to the standard,accounting for 81.25%. 27 water samples collected in non-fluorosis areas were tested, of them 24 were up to the standard,accounting for 88.89%. [Conclusion]There were 25 thousand villagers living in the area where the content of fluoride was higher in water. The prevelance of endemic fluorosis was severe,prevention and control of endemic fluorosis should be strengthened, great effort must be taken to look for water source in which the content of fluoride was lower.
