Logical Thinking in Symbolization and Logical Cohesion within a Text

通过对语词指号与逻辑思维之间关系的分析揭示逻辑思维的过程,同时也是运用语词指号传达语词意义的过程。语言从有声语言到无声语言的发展过程,与人类从形象思维到抽象逻辑思维发展过程相对应。逻辑、思维与语言意义域的涵义在于逻辑思维的语言表现,体现于语篇连贯,而语篇的连贯在于逻辑连接。通过英汉语篇逻辑连接的研究,阐述中西逻辑关系同中之异和螺旋式与直线型思维方式的逻辑特征。

Through the analysis of the relationship between logical thinking and＇word signs, this paper reveals that the process of logical thinking is also the process of using word signs to convey its meaning. The development process of language from sound language to soundless language corresponds to the development of human from thinking in images to logical thinking in abstract. The impli- cations of logic, thinking and field of language meaning lie in the manifestation of logical thinking, reflecting on discourse coher- ence which depends on logical cohesion. This paper also illustrates the similarities and differences in Chinese and western logical relationship and logical feature in spiral and liner ways of thinking, through the study of logic in English and Chinese discourses.
