摘要
音译是翻译外来专有名词如人名、地名的最主要的方式,音译涉及的诸多问题并未在翻译中引起足够的重视,译者常常依据手中现有的工具查出汉译或根据发音译出便可,由此造成一词多译的现象时有发生。专有名词的音译需要结合六种情况加以斟酌。
Transliteration is the most commonly used way to handle foreign proper names. Translators, however, do not pay enough attention to problems related to transliteration and just pick one from the dictionary or make one according to the pronunciation, thus, the same English word may have different transliterations. Six issues of transliteration needs to be considered when we translate.
