Currently, the international nonproliferation regime is facing serious challenges. The root causes are: U.S. hegemonic foreign policy and militarism have undermined the international security environment, there are loopholes and unfairness in the international nonproliferation regime and the nuclear weapon states have not honored their commitments to nuclear disarmament.
