晚清至民国初期翻译在社会发展中的作用

晚清至民国初期,中国民族危机空前严重。先进的知识分子以翻译西方书籍来救国保种。翻译推动了人们思想观念的转变,丰富了中国本土文化,也丰富了人们在历史、地理、科技、哲学等各个领域的知识。同时,它改变了人们对小说的认识,提高了小说的地位,在一定程度上促进了中国文学的发展,对中国社会的发展起了一定的积极的作用。

The national crisis in China was unprecedentedly serious during the period from late Qing Dynasty to the Early Republic of China. The advanced intellectuals translated the western books into Chinese in order to save the country. Their translation not only pushed forward the change of people＇s ideas, bat enriched the native Chinese culture and people＇s knowledge in the field of history, geography, philosophy, science and technology, etc. Meanwhile, translation changed people＇s view on the novel, enhanced its status and promoted the development of Chinese literature to certain degree.
