objective To explore the excellent dispositions that head nurses should be qualified with. Methods The prospective analytic method was used to summarize our experiences, combined together my work experience, and thought the dispositions the head nurse should be with in the 21 century by the dynamic and developed viewpoint. Results the head nurses accepted actively the international management principals and took the initiative. They revealed the Chinese traditional culture characteristics of connotation and delicately. They also were serious to learn the advanced management theory and practiced it. Because of these, they explored a suit method of nursing supervision with the Chinese characteristic. They continually widened their knowledge structure, improved our nursing supervision and made it a routine, scientifically and regularly. Conclusion the head nurse should study for life long, improve their leadership and their professional ability to meet the need of social development and nursing reforms.
