Sentences without subject, unique to the Chinese language, are also a common sentence pattern in medical papers. In contrast, ＂subject＂ is essential to the structure of English sentences and sentences without a subject are only exceptions. This language difference makes English mistranslation of such Chinese sentences one of the most common mistakes in medical papers writen by Chinese scholars. This paper analyzes the causes of such mistakes and introduces techniques for translating this kind od sentences in medical papers.
