高校外事工作者的综合素质应体现在具有良好的政治素质、较强的业务能力、团结互助爱岗敬业乐于奉献的精神等诸方面。高校外事工作者良好的政治素质,要求注重提高马列主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和"三个代表"重要思想的理论水平和政策水平。较强的业务能力,主要表现熟悉高校外事工作和具有较强的语言运用能力。而团结互助、爱岗敬业、乐于奉献的精神和具有较强的人际交往和应变能力,则是综合素质中不可缺的条件。
