Some Questions about the Evaluation Index System of International Metropolitan Libraries

介绍以国际大都市图书馆指标体系研究国家社会科学重点课题的研究背景,论述本课题创建国际大都市图书馆指标体系、推进国际大都市图书馆的发展并为其提供重要坐标和参考、拓展中国图书馆事业发展的国际视野和管理与服务中的全球思维的研究目的和研究定位,归纳国际大都市图书馆的十大共同特征为:文化的多样性、文化积淀的丰厚性、数字资源的丰富性、读者服务的跨时空性、馆员队伍的专业化、管理服务的法制化、城市图书馆系统的一体化、机构文化的前瞻性、研究交流的国际化以及市民读者中的高知名度。

This paper introduces the background of using the Evaluation Index System of International Metropolitan Libraries（EISIML） to study the national social sciences important projects, and discusses the research aim and the orientation of EISIML in its building, in promoting the development of international metropolitan libraries and providing the important references, and in developing the international sight and management thoughts of Chinese libraries. The paper also considers ten common characteristics of international metropolitan libraries such as the diversity culture, the fullness cultural accumulation, the richness of digital resources, and so on.
