he relationship between literature and city is much more close and complex than we have already known.In modern and post-modern literature,the city has become a symbol and a metaphor rather than a place.New York,a bizarre metropolis in the United States,has become the cradle of American urban literature.The most representative literature genre generated and grew up under the New York City culture should be the New York School poetry.Frank O'Hara,as the representative of the New York School poetry,takes the most important position in American post-modern literature poetry.However,we have neglected the colorful city culture in O'Hara's poem for many years when we study his works,just making research on his poetry writing skills and poetry language.Considering this point,making study on history and culture which affected O'Hara's creation,especially making a full and deep study on the relationship between New York city culture and O'Hara's propositions of poetry and the features of his poetry,which will reveal the interactive relationship between the New York School poets and New York,will be of great significance.
