Language is a tool for human communication and it can＇t exist without culture., If we don＇t know the communicative ohjects＇ cultural background, we will inevitahly make mistakes in the communicative language, This article studies the importance of developing the competence of the intercultural communication in English teaching of college from the relationship between the language of English and its culture and pragmatic failure in the intercultural communication. This article also gives some suggestions on it.
