In this article, the author takes the perspective of register defined by Halliday and Hasan and undertakes the study on the humorous effect in communication by the channel of register deviation. The aim of this article is to study the performance of register deviation with the variations of field, tenor, mode, respectively, on the final effect of humor in communication.
