The application of GIS technology on water environment protection is presented by taking the case of Fuxianhu lake. The general design and systematic function model, database and technologic tactics of GIS are demonstrated in detail here. It shows us the great convenient by using GIS to lake environment management. The system can improve the economic development around lakeside and strengthen lake protection.
