Pearl S. Buck (1892 -1973 ) is the first American woman whose novel The Good Earth won the Nobel Literature Prize in 1938 and spent her youth in Zhenjiang. She called Zhenjiang as her hometown and Chinese as her mother tongue. Pearl Buck also said that she had never left China and always belonged to China.
