The paper analyses the existing problems of 6 modes of technical supervision and inspection organizations which attach themselves to the department or section of petroleum administrative bureaus. It puts forward the principles of setting up technical supervision and inspection organizations in petroleum enterprizes. It is held that setting up a technical supervision and inspection center in each petroleum administrative bureau is a mode for setting up such organizations and it is worth spreading.
