HIPPS is a kind of high integrated pressure protection system. This paper introduces the characteristic and functions of HIPPS, depicts its difference with PCV＆ESD system according to its using in offshore crude oil engineering. Meanwhile, it makes a description for its influence to production and operation of offshore oil field. HIPPS will have extensive application in other industry area.
