摘要
威廉.戈尔丁代表作小说《蝇王》自出版就受到广泛阅读和激烈争论,其中小说女性缺场引起学术界的特别关注。传统女性主义批评视之为男性主义经典,戈尔丁被冠以男性至上主义者。但是,从《蝇王》的立意构思、情节安排、人物刻画和细节描写所呈现出来的女性写作特征,以及从戈尔丁的家庭背景和他其余的作品中的女性形象入手进行新的思考,可知情况并非如此。
Lord of the Flies, William Golding's masterpiece, has been extensively read and heatedly argued since its publication. The absence of women in the novel has aroused the special attention of the academic circle. This paper simply reviews the dominant feminist criticisms that Lord of the Flies is an androtext and Golding is typical of male chauvinists. More importantly, it newly reflects upon the feminine features of the novel as well as female images in other representative works of William Golding and tentatively proposes unconventional feminist viewpoints on Golding and his classic.
